Magnolia Bay Quilts: Time for a Blog Give-Away!

Good morning. This is the lull before the storm today, as posted about the other day my daughters Julia's Hens party is today for around 20 women. Yesterday was my ever patient Bruce's birthday and we gave him a very impromptu birthday dinner for him. So all weekend I have had very heavy cold and have stayed extremely busy. As promised here are the completed Red Delicious blocks.
There are so many giveaways on offer at the moment. Instead of writing about each individual giveaway from no one I am going to post a link on my sidebar for everyone to follow. Please have a look and let them know I sent you over to visit.

Magnolia Bay Quilts: Time for a Blog Give-Away!

Saturday, May 2, 2009

Good Morning,

This week has been a good one I have not created any quilts but have almost finished my husbands jacket for the wedding. It is less than two weeks to go now and one of my sons has bought new clothes for and would like them altered. So I need to alter two pairs of trousers etc. Well at least I have 13 days and counting down to complete them.

This weekend I am meant to be on a quilting retreat but have a heavy cold and decided it would do me know good to go and keep the long hours that I keep normally at retreats. Any way your own bed is best when you are feeling under the weather. Sunday afternoon is the Hens Party for my daughter Julia I understand there will be between 20 and 30 women coming to celebrate. To be honest I don't think I could have done retreat and managed the things involved for the hens party there are not that many hours in two days.

Sorry I have not found the time to photograph the Red Delicious blocks, I are now up to the roses from April, but Breast of Friends has moved to the side.

Another note have a look at http://inklingoprojects.blogspot.com/. This is a interesting blog site, I have started following.

Charm Square Swap

Hi to everyone
I was reading the update from School of Crafts a blog I follow, Natalie is doing a purple charm square swap which I have joined. What a great idea, I would be interested in starting a cream to tan charm square swap. If you are interested leave a comment and your email and I will get back to you.
Progress I have just finished two of my Red delicious blocks and started the third. I love the cheery crisp colours.

More to follow Jeannette

Jacket Construction

Hi again,
I have the front and back assembled of the coat including the back kick pleat at the bottom, I must say I am happy so far. The pattern is fitting together extremly, well if anyone asks I will post the name and number of the pattern. The colours on the computer do not do the material justice. It is dark silvery blue grey back ground with black Jacquard and a little bit of silver high lights.

I did get some quilting done today I took time away from the jacket to put the borders on the neonate quilt challenge so it can be handed over to be quilted I was a bit slack at not completing this sooner. In the evenings I have been working on the Red delicious blocks ans so far have completed one and about half way thru another. All of the blocks are traced and prepared for applique so I can move from to another as I finish.
Today was brilliant I got so many things accomplished, I finished the drawings I was working on, did a final print and they are now ready to take to the client who is also a friend who follows my blog. At this point in the posting it has become difficult to type as I have ended up with my cat Noah on my lap who is always fed about now so I must go and get his dinner ready.

Bye for now.
PS As you can see this is his angry look, he does not like his photo taken and the delay in feeding him.
