Longarm Quilting Classes:
Introduction Class
This introduction class is for anyone who would like to learn how to quilt their own quilt using a longarm quilting machine. The class is an overview of the types of quilting you can do using the longarm and an introduction to the skills you will need to complete your quilts.
The class is a small group class and can be flexible . During the class we will be working on a calico sample so you will not need to bring any supplies.
We will cover
1. The operation of the machine,
2. Loading a quilt,
3. Available patterns,
4. Thread and batting.
In addition you will be introduced to pantographs, ruler work, and free motion quilting. The class runs for two hours plus and is $50.00 per person.
It is advised that you progress on to take one of the assisted Basic Long Arm Training Half Day and Freehand Machine Basics Half Day and work on a quilt or two of your own to gain more experience.
Freehand Machine Basics Half Day
Class Details: Within this 0ne on 0ne class you will be working on your own quilt top, and exploring edge to edge quilting, either a pantograph or a meander.
Supplies Needed: Finished quilt top (baby, or lap size) Backing fabric (minimum of extra 5" on all four sides) (Cost $160)
You will learn:
1. Loading your backing, batting and quilt top
2. Choosing and lining up the perfect pantograph or freehand design for your quilt.
3. Threading the machine and changing bobbins
4. Checking for great tension
5. Determining your comfort zone
6. Tip & tricks to smooth, effortless quilting
7. Advancing your quilt for each pass

Basic Long Arm Training Half Day
Class Details: Within this 0ne on 0ne class you will be working on your own quilt top, and exploring basic free hand techniques.
Supplies Needed: Finished quilt top (baby, or lap size) Backing fabric (minimum of extra 5" on all four sides) (Cost $160)
You will learn:
1. Basic Free Hand Techniques,
2. template work,
3. Stitch-in-the-ditch,
Advanced Free Hand Training
In this class you will learn and practise additional free hand custom techniques
including: Over the Top Feathers, Cross Hatching,
Stencil work, Flowers, and Continuous Line Fillers.
